LIS DRILLS

With the increasing concern for the impact that seismic exploration has on the environment, Bertram Drilling designed and fabricated a compact unit, mounted on a small track driven carrier. LIS units require an operating width of a mere 2.5 metres Roll Over Protection Systems (R.O.P.S.) are built into the cabs, and the drill units are designed for air, hammer, or auger drilling. Part of these L.I.S. drills' unique design is an innovative dust suppression system.

The water carrier units are mounted with tanks to carry up to 2700 litres/600 gallons of water, limiting unnecessary travel for water and thereby further lessening the impact on the environment. In keeping with Bertram Drilling's concern for the environment, these LIS drills, like all Bertram equipment, use only bio-degradable hydraulic oils.
